This is a very enjoyable reading.I really liked the different types of stories included in this collection .I recommend this group for anyone that wants a romantic read.

The stories are interesting. Most of the time enjoyed the story line but some were mostly about just having sex. It’s better to leave a little to the imagination.

I really enjoyed this combination of authors. All the stories were good and I enjoyed each one. There were wood characters as well as story lines.

Wonderful to get lost in on a cold winter night while cuddled on the couch under a warm blanket.Highly Recommend!

This borders on porn. I thought it was Christian fiction. Boy was I wrong.Didn't get very far before wishing to delete. Don't know about the rest of the stories. The first few pages of the first story was enough to get rid of it!

I felt that some of the stories left me hanging.

Karl Marx was born in 1818 in Trier, Germany and studied in Bonn and Berlin. Buyers beware! This edition is almost certainly an older English translation of CAPITAL (translators Moore and Aveling) and NOT the more recent, superior translation by Ben Fowkes, published by Penguin Books. Evidently Amazon doesn't now offer that newer translation for sale, except in the Kindle edition. (You'll notice that nowhere on the copyright page of this edition does it even mention the translators.) The old, Moore and Aveling translation is good as far as it goes, but it is almost certainly in the public domain now. The fly by night publisher of the $9.00 paperback here offered for sale must be raking in the profits, since it has 'acquired' the rights for this edition of CAPITAL for nothing! (If you read the fine print at the bottom of the publisher's blurb by scrolling down to the bottom of the blurb you'll notice that it warns you that the blurb refers to an "alternate" paperback edition of the book, NOT the Penguin edition that IS for sale as a Kindle book. If I were you, I'd consider buying the Kindle book (the price isn't too bad) but WAIT for Amazon the get access again to the Penguin, Ben Fowkes translation in order to buy a bound copy..

If you invest the substantialamount of time and prodigious effort needed to master it, you will definitely come to understand why Marxists become Marxists, and you may very well become one yourself. At the very least, you'll see the world differently, and you'll have a firmer grasp on the character of our contemporary world, not just its economic make-up, but in a socially expansive way. It's hard to imagine anyone reading the book carefully and with a modicum of understanding and coming away with the judgment that this is merely an ideologically motivated, long-winded exercise in willful self-deception and the deception of others. If you encounter someone who characterized Marx as a willfully wrong-headed ideologue, you may safely assume that you're dealing with someone who has not read Capital.Capital Volume 1 is, in fact, a richly informative and very difficult piece of world-class research. I imagine that most readers who take its full measure will come back to it again and again. I can't imagine doing justice to Capital Volume 1 without putting forth the kind of effort that makes for the creation of a life-long connection. Marx himself claims to have sacrificed his health, happiness, and family to writing the book. This has the pathetic sound of self-pitying exaggeration. But given what I know of Marx and the necessarily prodigious demands of the kind of work he produced, I'm sure he's being dispassionately truthful.You may be disappointed to find that Capital is much less polemical than it is rigorously analytical. That was my first response. For the long term, however, I realized the book is a keeper, and I acknowledged that I'd have to look elsewhere for a call-to-arms that is not also embedded in massive learning. It's true, of course that Marx was an active professional revolutionary, but he was also a world-class scholar with a prodigiously cultivated mind. Reading Marx makes me want to spend a year or two in the library of the British Museum, where Marx did his best scholarship.Marx and Charles Darwin exchanged fairly frequent correspondence. Everyone knows that Darwin transformed our understanding of the world and our place in it. Much the same is true of Marx's contribution to human knowledge. It's interesting to acknowledge that social and religious conservatism were barriers to the rightful dissemination of both. That Marx maintained an ongoing relationship with others of undeniable genius, such as Darwin, bespeaks Marx's own intellectual prowess and reflects his status as a wonderfully original thinker. In his own authentic way, Marx was at least as much a brilliant scientist as Darwin. Darwin changed the way we thought about ourselves, but Marx changed the way we live.

It is hard to write a small review. I can't put 100 pages of notes on this book. It is a book to help anyone understand how capital works. Volume two is more about the circulation process. Please read it and don't quit after chapter 3. It is a long book and it is somewhat complicated. There is no copy right information or publisher listed anywhere, no table of contents, and it's overall just awkwardly laid out. The cherry on top is that I didn't even receive the complete book, it just abruptly stops mid sentence and the last few sections are missing completely. Absolute garbage, please don't buy this version. Amazon needs to have a little bit of quality control with the products they sling because this isn't even a legitimate publication.

I saw a few pics of pages from this book and grabbed it. Not because I will ever get a tattoo, let alone ever create one. I wanted the designs for tracing for illuminations (on SCA scrolls) and for straight-up coloring. And this book has many lovely designs for both of those purposes. There is a mix of line art and shaded art; the latter cries out to be done with watercolor washes as overlays.The book loses stars for coloring purposes from the ultrathin paper and binding. The paper is almost transparent, with the designs from the other side pretty clearly visible through most of the pages. I'm going to have to scan and print, which means basically disassemble the book, because it's physically small but thick, and the perfect-bound binding does NOT lay flat. I'm wishing there was an electronic version where I could just print the pages I want, but oh well.For tattoo purposes, it's a weird assortment of images. Way too many variations on some themes, while other themes I commonly see in tattoos almost completely absent. Many of the animal designs look like they came straight from Dover coloring books. There are a lot that look like pencil drawings (lovely ones), and then pen-and-ink versions of the same drawing -- but the latter look flawed or awkward, drawn using only a single pen size.I had a decent idea what I was getting, and given that I do coloring and several crafts where these assorted designs could be useful, I'll get my money's worth out of the book. But if you're a specialist artist, artisan, or crafter, you might not.

This is a very mixed bag of a book and unevenly weighted in concepts. Too many of one thing and not enough of others. The animal section is a complete waste of time unless you like ducks and pheasant. Most of the four-legged animals are out of proportion. If you are looking for good representations of bison, big cats, wolves or elk, please look somewhere else. The Celtic section is very good, except, as has been noted above...way too many crosses. I realize that one person cannot anticipate what everyone else needs or wants, but I felt there could have been more of a balance in what was portrayed. I feel I wasted my money, and am still looking for a good book on tattoo line art.

Like the variety of tattoos in this book. I bought it because I do pyrography and thought it would be good for patterns.

If you are looking for a story full of humor and a message of perseverance, hit "Buy It Now". My family has been a fan of Troy's since he visited my son's school last year. REWIND: When I heard Troy Cummings was coming to my son's school, I checked out his "stuff". It didn't take long for me to realize "Dang, this guy is good!" The better children's writers do not write down to their audience, they tell stories that a child will find something in at every level & discover something different each time they read it. We read this for the first time a few nights ago & upon a reread last night, both my sons were pointing out different things. As an adult, Troy's work feels timeless. His artwork reminds me of the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons, so clean and full of joy that you can't help but smile as you read it.The message: This book can be read as a simple A-Z story, but, it's even better when you use it to create a dialog with your child/children. We were able to talk about reacting to your environment, never giving up, why we help others and treating everyone with respect and dignity. At the end of the day, it is a wonderful little story.If you get it now, you can brag to all the other parents how you "discovered" it before it won a Caldecott Medal...

Arfy is a dog in need of a place to stay, so he emBARKS on a mission to find a forever home by writing letters to everyone who lives on Butternut Street; asking the question, one house, one fire station, one butcher shop at a time, “Can I be your dog?” He truly is one persistent pooch! Without much persuasion, I bet that Arfy would have you convinced that he’s the dog for you. Each letter will simply make your heart melt.Can I be Your Dog? was a pure joy to read and it made me want to snuggle with my own fur-baby Schnoodle, Susie-Q, who my nephew used to call “Susie Cute.” She was given to us by my aunt and she has been the sweetest little addition to our family. She is often my reading buddy at night before I go to bed. We are her people as much as she is our dog and we love her to pieces. Much like what we have, Arfy just wanted a family that he could call his own and with each letter he writes, the reader likely will be vying for Arfy to send a letter to them, in which case he would have no problem finding a home because every child is going to want to take him in. When I introduce this book to my students this school year, they are sure to fall in love the same way I did. Something tells me that I’m going to need to get my hands on more than one copy for our library.In this book, Troy Cummings is both author and illustrator and as you flip through the pages you will quickly adore Arfy as a playful, cheerful, determined dog. Here are some of the reasons I really enjoyed this book:The cover! – Our students love dogs and will be drawn to Arfy’s adorable face. Also, note that the forever stamp on Arfy’s envelope is a forever home (LOVE this!)The front matter – There is a collection of awesome stamps to start the book of varying color, price, and size.The letters – Arfy is a pretty persuasive writer. His letters are so sweet and filled with hope. I like the different paper that he finds to write on and the various responses he receives. Some nice, some not so nice…but it only takes one yes!The ending – It will melt your heart (no spoilers, so that’s all I’m going to say).The final letter from Arfy – Arfy provides tips on how to help homeless animals, including links to the ASPCA and the Humane Society.I can think of at least two activities to try with students after reading this book:Have students write a response letter to Arfy. Would they have said yes to him and invited him into their home? Why?Have students write their own persuasive letter as Arfy. What might they want to say that would convince someone to be his forever family?Have you read the book? What else will you plan to do with your students? Maybe a service project to help homeless animals?Be sure to check out Troy Cummings’ other books. I would highly recommend his Notebook of Doom series as it has been a HUGE hit at my school. Troy Cummings visited our school and read this book to the students at LVDS. This story is such a fun idea. The dog writes letters to many people in the community asking for a home. Readers will feel great sympathy for the dog, but love him for his persistence. Fabulous illustrations and colors!

Fabulous story about homelessness in relation to strays and about adopting pets that need a home. Great way to introduce a conversation with children about homelessness in general. Also a fabulous tool for demonstrating letter writing, a lost art for many young people. Teachers can use this for social justice, letter writing, persuasive writing and debate as well as innovation! Language is clear, illustrations delightful!

This story really tugs at your heart strings. Some of my students teared-up, but all were on the edge of their seats hoping that Arfy would find a home. A great read aloud to incorporate into a writing friendly letters unit.

A great book for a grandpa with a rescue dog--and grandchildren 3 and almost 5

This book is comprised of several short letters written by a dog trying to find a home to various people in the neighborhood. The letters are cute and clever and he also receives responses back from the people he writes to. Ultimately he finds a home and you'll find yourself tearing up a bit particularly if you are an animal lover! It's a good story to read to your kids and teach them about the issue of homeless pets and the importance of adopting from shelters! The illustrations are bright and fun making it a visually pleasing book even if kids can't quite understand the message yet.

This is a very sweet book. My daughter can get pretty emotional during sad scenes on TV shows so I wasn't sure how she'd do but she really liked this book and I love that there's a portion at the end about adopting animals.
