If you have children in your church this is a 'must have.' And you would not believe the adults that read it and love it! Baptism is explained in simple terms. We give this book to the children in our church and it has made a world of difference. Money well spent!

I bought this book because my children were expressing an interest in becoming baptized. As I wanted them to fully understand the life choice they were making, we went through this book together.This book clearly explained baptism using biblical information. We spread the lessons out, one a week, and my children would ask for more.This book explains baptism: its meaning and implications. It does so in a way children understand. And it does it through the use of bible verses and stories.

The simple language of this workbook (without being childish) was just right for my young adult son with autism as he prepared to be become baptized.

This book explains everything about baptism from a child's point of view. It's important that children know exactly what it means to be baptized and this book makes it easy for them to understand. Excellent pictures, easy to follow. I recommend this to every Christian home with kids.

Used it years ago for my son. My daughter wasn't interested in doing the exercises, she was older at the time when we bought it for her than my son was when he did it. Can't remember if there is an age suggestion on it.

All of my kids have gone through this workbook before getting baptized. It’s awesome

Our church gives this book to families whose children have expressed an interest in being baptized, to give them a good understanding.

A very, very funny book. I was taking care of grand sons, ages 11 and 8, while parents were gone for two nights overnight. The 8 year old always is sad when his mom is gone and its hard for him to relax enough to go to sleep. I used this book as a diversion and it really worked! He was laughing and giggling and totally forgetting his mom was not with him at bed time. Made it a lot easier!

Let me start by saying that Shel Silverstein can do no wrong. I have been a fan of his from his first book. As one child who checked out Where the Sidewalk Ends said, "He's so silly but I like him." Runny Babbit lives up to its subtitle -- a Billy Sook. Words turn backwards and animals have silly ideas. Perfect for a book to read to your little ones. Fun for the older kids to play with the words and create their own Billy Sook.Thank you, Shel.

I've been a fan of Shel Silverstein's work since I was a kid. Intrigued by his poetry back then, I now work as a Private Tutor and have used a lot of his books to help children with learning to read on the next level (or those who are simply struggling with reading as they tend to just find it "boring.")Of course, getting children to develop better reading skills will only happen if they practice reading consistently. Reading a book they enjoy will certainly help hold their interest and make them WANT to read. Books packed with funny poems are definitely a good method to try. Kids WILL want to read them!My First Grade student who I tutor in Reading (among other subjects) absolutely LOVES reading poems by Shel Silverstein. What he used to find boring, he now finds interesting and fun. We started with "Where The Sidewalk Ends" and he just couldn't get enough. I ended up purchasing "A Light In The Attic" for him to read as well and, of course, "Runny Babbit."You can expect the same Shel Silverstein humor & entertainment from "Runny Babbit," but it's also a bit different as, just like the title, the poems contain words with 'backwards' letters & kids can't help but laugh at this (and they DO understand how the first letter of the words have been reversed).I definitely recommend this book to any child who enjoys reading, likes humor in poetry as well as children who need that extra "push" to get them interested in reading more. (I should also mention it does make us adults chuckle quite often as well!)

If you can remember "Hee Haw" television and remember when they read about Rindercella and her stugly ep sisters, then you'll enjoy seeing this type of fun in print. After watching the television program when I was a young mother and auntie to nephews and niece, there were times when story reading became a time for ME to have a bit more fun with the books that I had read so many, many times. At that time, the kids did NOT like me to read their favorite stories in the odd fashion but I got a kick out of it. I found Runny Babbit was available while looking for Shel Silverstein books for my granddaughters. The copy I got was a used library copy so the price was right and I bought it for them. I reviewed the book before giving it to them and I hope it will bring them some fun story time off and on in the years to come. Runny Babbit takes a little getting used to until your mind engages in the fun and stops trying to work so hard. Makes you laugh. In the Silverstein tradition, it is short prose and not a continuing story throughout the book. Personally, I think it is just as much fun to take a story we are all familiar with, like Cinderella and her ugly step sisters and read it the 'wrong' way and have a few laughs too.

Shel, I love you, and I appreciate the artistic nature of this book, but I fail to see the point of using this style. It would have been funnier if interesting word were created by the transcription of letters, but unfortunately those are few and far between. I advise buyers that this is not a good book to read to youngsters who are still learning to read because it will confuse the bejesus out of their poor little minds.

The plays on words are a lot of fun for adults to read, but are difficult to read aloud and impossible for young children to follow. We got this to read to our 3-1/2 year old grandson, for which it's a failure, although we do enjoy it ourselves.

Some parts of this book are read every nite to my grandson's satisfaction. The boy doesn't really understand how swapping letters changes things - all that is so far beyond him. However, the sound of the unfamiliar words charms him into squeals​ of laughter every single time his parents read it to him. This will be a winner even if your youngster doesn't understand the relationship between "Runny Babbit" and "Bunny Rabbit".

It's bad enough trying to keep your kid's interest reading books, but this one is just confusing for both of us. Having to keep going back and explain what I just read? Every sentence?...

I'm about 150 pages in to this book. I think the book is very straight to the point. Its name basically says it. Python, Linux, Automation in general, etc, are all being covered and the authors do a great job in keeping the examples and teachings directly geared towards networking. It's pretty easy to read in my opinion. Very well organized. Meant to be modular, meaning the authors state that you should be able to skip to chapters if you need to without having to rely on the previous chapters.What I'd recommend, before diving too heavily in to this book is to actually write a simple python program. Then when you go in to that chapter, it's like a lightning round. Also, if you've had very little or no Linux experience, please install it on something and play around. Follow along with the Linux chapter and solidify what he's teaching. After the Python chapter (#4), I would think you're most likely learning something new, requiring a bit of knowledge from the first 4 chapters.

Network engineering is in a paradigm shift in both mindset and technology. This book offers a solid foundation for both technical details and 'soft skill' such as culture and mindset. I am impressed with the breadth and depth that the authors are able to cover in such a broad landscape. This book deserves a place on any network engineer's bookshelf.

Infrastructure as code is a complicated topic, specially on the grounds of networking, but this book brings a lot of light with a little help of Python programming. It's a great start to anyone seriously interested on provisioning automated infrastructure.

So far I have purchased:PRO WPF 4.5 in C#,WPF 4.5 Unleashed,and MVVM survival guide for Enterprise etc..(These are pretty much the only books out there)I have to say this book is the best of them all. I haven't written any reviews for the other books only this one. That's how much i like this book. Trust me if you're new to WPF this book is the best one. Although Pro WPF 4.5 is also very good although it has more information than you really need.High Points of this book:1) Less Garbage to filter out. (I hate it when books go into sooooo much detail that it loses focus)2) Great Step by step guide3) Great Sample projects that are in individual projects(This makes figuring out what's going in the projects so much better, and believe me that this book hasTHE BEST SAMPLE PROJECTS!)4) Over all breakdown Getting Ready Section: Very detailed and easy to follow. Other books just assume you know how to set everything up. How It Works Section: This is very helpful and to the point.OVERALL:I have been studying WPF for about 6 months now and i will tell you that it's not easy to get into. There is a MAJOR learning curve to this. This book is it's well organized, and to the point.

So many books I've found on WPF cover XAML, of course, but then seem to focus on cool UI features. Data binding gets a passing mention with regard to UI elements but an in-depth treatment is missing. I write business apps and have a data model to bind to my UI. I need to bind objects and sets of objects, and I've found most WPF books lacking in this area. Before this book, my best source was a book on writing Silverlight business applications (poor, dead Silverlight!). I actually bought this book because of a few recipes about business data model binding, but found so much more. I started reading it from the beginning and learned something in every single solution. The author has a great style and explains things clearly.In our current tech world, where product documentation is basically crowd-sourced to third-party forum sites like Stack Exchange, it is often hard to find a source that presents a cohesive view of a product. Don't get me wrong, I love Stack Exchange and use it a lot, but the bigger picture can be lost in code snippets. As this is a cookbook, there is lots of code to look at, but the surrounding text gives a great context for the problem being solved, and I learned some foundational pieces about WPF along the way.Great book!

Great book. The author explains things very well. I would have liked some more coverage of the MVVM pattern as this was the main reason I purchased the book. Having said that, there aren't many other books with good reviews that cover MVVM. There are some that are dedicated to MVVM but have bad reviews. I considered "C# 6.0 and the .NET 4.6 Framework" but the MVVM coverage is even less. I will consider getting "Learn WPF MVVM". Again, the other does a great job explaining things so check the online content page and the amount of coverage each topic gets.

Just WOW. I feel like this book was written specificly for me. That's just exactly what I needed. I had some introduction to WPF from PRO WPF 4 from Apress, but this one is just pure knowledge without any single unnecesary line of text. It allows me to dive into stuff without too much background. That way i can play with everything from the beginning: custom markup extensions, attached properties, dependency properties, commands, MVVM pattern and so on. In other books you have to read many pages of text and after that you don't feel like launching visual studio to test it. But here you have from the beginning: "Make sure you have visual studio up and running" and you have no choice :D You have to code everything. That way you learn faster and it's more fun.Just brilliant!I recommend it, Tomasz Sikora!

I originally learned WPF/XAML haphazardly from the web. This book was great for filling my knowledge gaps; it presents advanced topics in plain language. It's extremely well written and covers just about everything. If you're a beginner, recommend doing some tutorials and a small project first.

Very comprehensive introduction to decoherence.

This highly specialized book determinedly sticks to its proclaimed aim with the emphasis very decidedly on decoherence . The author has contributed significantly to the field and everything he does in the book is carefully referenced to a bibliography listing no fewer than 514 items , bringing it up to the year 2006 .Zurek's work is copiously referred to . You have a theoretical problem with decoherence it's a good bet Schlosshauer has been there .You will find the formal basis for decoherence analysis and calculation extensively worked out leading to master equations which are then applied to solve specific model problems .Quantum computation is discussed as a prime victim to decoherence .Relevance of decoherence to various interpretations of QM is discussed : hidden-variables theories do not fare well . The status of the measurement problem is critically reviewed : the problem is still there . There also is a chapter on experiments demonstrating decoherence in a controlled way . The descriptions are detailed though not self-contained . For an experimentalist's approach to fundamental quantum physics experiments one should look at an also recent though somewhat earlier book by Haroche & Raimond .Thoretical physicists working in this field will want this outstanding book on their shelves and the author on their mailing list .This reader is left with a question : is there or will there be a consistently information-theoretical approach to the quantum-to-classical transition ?And here's an idea for the publisher : start quoting your book prices in oil barrels .Alex TrierSantiago , ChileRetired university professor

This book revises the fundamental interpretation of quantum mechanics focusing on the weaknesses of the canonical Copenaghen interpretation. The decoherence program is explained through the book not without useful and interesting remarks on the historical development and the state-of-the-art of the program. It's definetly the most understandble and enjoyble book on this subject, although there are probably just a couple of altrernatives. Very useful also to revise several quantum mechanics concepts and formalisms.

Typical introductions to quantum mechanics present it as being composed of two processes, unitary evolution of the wavefunction and collapse of the wavefunction. The latter being tied to things like an external world and observer. Consciousness is also sometimes invoked as playing an important role. While this is good enough to do many calculations and make interesting predictions, it's clearly not any kind of "fundamental" theory.Environmental decoherence explains why it looks like there is wavefunction collapse, why superpositions are difficult to observe and why a world governed by quantum mechanics looks classical. Often introductory books speak of "quantizing" a classical system to see the quantum effects, giving the impression that the quantum world arises from the classical world. Another benefit of studying decoherence is that it makes it clear that the (apparently) classical world arises from a universe ruled by the laws of quantum mechanics.This book provides a thorough and clear presentation of decoherence. It does not assume any previous exposure to decoherence. All the fundamental concepts are explained from the ground up. However, the reader should have a fairly solid background in non-relativistic quantum mechanics. I think at the level of a graduate course.Not only are the principles of decoherence clearly explained, but so are several experimental results relating to concrete predictions of decoherence. This includes predictions of decoherence time scales and how they compare to experiments. A nice aspect of this is that it shows that the transition from quantum to apparently classical is continuous and not discrete. There is also a chapter on quantum computing, however I only read the first section (which was good) and cannot comment of the rest.Although decoherence is an important part of foundational issues in quantum mechanics it doesn't completely eliminate discussions of interpretations of quantum mechanics. The second to last chapter deals with these issues. The last chapter discusses ties between decoherence and consciousness (not in the metaphysical sense, more along the lines of things like decoherence time scales for structures in the brain). These final two chapters are the part of the book that is most like a typical interpretation of quantum mechanics book and are very well done.While there are some very good to excellent books on interpretations of quantum mechanics, this book would be my first choice for studying foundational issues in quantum mechanics. The reasons are that decoherence is clearly an important topic, this book makes connections with experimental results (including effects at mesoscopic scales), it assumes no prior knowledge of the topic and it's very well written.
