I was not really familiar with the works of Shostakovich, but having been to Saint Petersburg several times and speaking with people about the siege of Leningrad, I thought the book would provide an interesting read. It more than delivered on this and I found it hard to put down. The photographs contained in this book are truly fantastic and not just a bunch of blurry indistinguishable ones. The story was both fascinating and moving, while at the same time giving me a new level of respect and appreciation for the residents of Leningrad, while showing how despicable the communist leaders truly were. It was also eye opening to learn about how this seventh symphony was played all over the world and universally understood. Even the Nazi soldiers (some of them) when they heard this symphony being played on loud speakers throughout the city understood that they would never be able to win this city, while also understanding that rather than the subhuman Slavs that they had been told lived there by Hitler that only the strongest and most human of humans could produce such music after such a prolonged siege and period of starvation. I had a SPB resident tell me this past summer about her father as a child and his evacuation from Leningrad during the siege. She spoke to me about the dangerous trip across the lake in the middle of winter. To then read about this "Road of Life" within the book in great detail, brought the earlier story I heard into much sharper detail. It was a good book that I hated to see end, although it is not a short one. After reading this book I bought the symphony to listen to and found the whole experience very enlightening after understanding the circumstances that surrounded its birth.

Wow. Seriously. Wow. This is an exquisitely written book, filled with such power and emotion that it moved me to tears on several occasions. The depth of the research and the honesty with which it is presented is impressive, and kudos to the author for this. I'm not really a huge non-fiction person, and I pretty much never read about war, but this one blew me out of the water. I don't give out five star ratings very often, but this one absolutely deserved it. The proof? Not only did I actually go out and buy the book, but I also bought a recording of the complete symphonies of Shostakovitch. I can't stop thinking about this book, even days later. Read it. You won't regret it.

Ostensibly this is a book for younger readers, perhaps for High School Advanced Placement English, Music or History students. This unassuming book however can hold its own in terms of pure scholarship. I am a subscriber to DSCH, and own every book I've been able to get my hands on on the life and music of Dmitri Shostakovitch, beginning with "Testimony", as told by Shostakovitch to Solomon Volkov and and New York Times journalist Harrison E. Salisbury's "The 900 Days:The Siege of Leningrad." A superb story teller, M.T. Anderson has created the most fully integrated book on Shostakovitch life & times thus far. There are those who consider Shostakovitch to be Gustav Mahler's heir apparent as master of the Symphonic form. We can only wish that someday a writer will come to the fore such as Henri-Louie de LaGrange did for the life & music of Mahler, & will write the definitive book(s) on Shostakovitch. For readers young AND old, Anderson's book will breath life into the story of this tormented soul who was the 20th Centuries most versatile composer.

M.T. Anderson is one of my favorite authors ever, young adult or otherwise, serious or silly. His "Feed" changed my entire perspective on our online world — and I was 42 at the time — and his "Jasper Dash and Flame-Pits of Delaware" is still one of the funniest books I've ever read. When I saw that he had written a book about one of my favorite composers ever, I one-clicked that puppy faster than you can blink. I was not disappointed.I knew the general story of Shostakovich's 7th Symphony, of his composing it during the Siege of Leningrad and what a splash it made across the world at the time, but Anderson presents an unbelievably detailed history of Shostakovich's early life in Leninist Soviet Union, Stalin's brutal reign, the war and the siege, and through it all, Shostakovich's composition of his huge 'war' symphony. It's a complete picture of an utterly foreign world to us, and Anderson brings it all round to the importance of art/music and how it keeps us human even in the worst of times. I was very sorry to see the book end.

I am a classical music lover and I thought this book was outstanding. The author provides the background of what is going on in Russia as it impacts on composer, Dmitri Shostakovich. I had no idea of the torments the Russian people went through as things in the country went from imperial rule to that of Lenin and then Stalin. In America, we hear much about the persecution of the Jews by Germany, but not about the thousands of Russians who were starved, sent to labor camps, tortured, shot, etc. The City of Leningrad was under siege for over a year while bombed and blockaded by the Germans. Shostakovich's 7th symphony (the Leningrad) was played all over the world and even by an orchestra of starving musicians within the city. It brought feelings of solidarity and hope to those who heard it.

Awesome guide! This book is so much better than Frommers. I had forgotten which one I preferred until I purchased both and compared. Fodors has so much more useful information and outlined in a fairly organized and easy to follow manner. Frommers has a whole bunch of information that's not really useful for travel and not enough information helpful info.

We bought this guide for a family vacation in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. The information is good and pretty thorough - BUT - if you actually want to find anything in the book, or on a map, or find a map, or find a restaurant or location referred to on one of the maps, then Good Luck. Because the layout of this book is absolutely dreadful. I'll give you an example: You're in Hong Kong and have heard the museum of teaware is good, so you want to see where it is on the map. Except you can't find the map because it's hidden amongst all the other HK information on a random page. You find the map and see that it's #8 on the key - so you try to find it in the "attractions" section - except it doesn't come after 7 and before 9, because attractions 7 and 9 are in a different area of the city and therefore on a different page in the book - not that the map even showed the city areas in the first place. So you eventually find the review, decide to go and decide to figure a restaurant to eat at while you're there. So - back to the map - except that's the attractions map, not the restaurant map - that's another map on another page, with another key, with more not-in-sequence numbers. For Kowloon it's worse. There are 2 different maps, to different scales, both with a random assortment of markets, sights and museums. It's potluck as to whether you'll ever actually find what you're looking for.I don't care how good the information is - if you can't find it, it's useless. For Beijing and Shanghai the Moon guide was much better - and had all the maps (by area), everything on them, color coded at the back of the book. Now that's sensible.

It has loads of pictures and plenty of general tips over China that were interesting. I purchased the book online but viewed this book along with the lonely planet one at a bookstore and much preferred this one.

Excellent book! We are addicted to it. Tells you where to go, where not to go and even helps you plan your trip depending on the number of days you will be staying in each city. Provides maps, hotels, restaurants even trains or buses to take. Addicted to this book. Bought another one on Amazon - Beijing & Shanghai and did not like it at all. Was not as complete.

I didn't like it that much. Contains a lot of information but is not detailed. Is not their fault as China is an extremely big country and has so many things to see and do to be covered in just one book.

Whenever we travel I always get one of these! It helps to plan what to see and where to eat

Living in China as expat, I must say that this guide is not even close to be colplete. I does not contain all regions of China, if you're planning to go north forget about this guide, also it does not care about some other interesting places and provinces . Regarding the title "Full-color" it's just a scam, it portays a few color heavily edited pictures of just some iconic places, a google search would do better than this. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY !

This is packed with information you will likely need in China. While it does not have the variety of pictures other guide books have, it is full of the detail one needs in a country as diverse as China. I especially like the "Foder's Choice" selections which have helped us determine what to see and where to stay. A good example is where to see the Great Wall. Without Foder's Choice, it would seem all Great Wall sites are the same when, in fact, some are better for the tourist than others.

My middle-schooler actually liked this book!!!My son and I struggled partway through some incredibly boring books on the middle school reading list. When it became apparent that he wouldn't finish on time, I desperately looked for something else on the list, knowing that whatever we picked would have to be read morning, noon, and night for him to finish on time. Thank goodness for this book! The story is fascinating and well told, and we thoroughly enjoyed a weekend of binge-reading it.Even little brother read and enjoyed it with us - voluntarily. This a great read for young and old, which I plan to pass on to their older sister and my parents.

William's world was not my world. His life was filled with ancient magic and mystery, security was having sacks of corn and not having them was death. A delicious treat wasn't got at the local ice cream shop, but by catching delicious flying ants or trapping birds between a slingshot and a stack of homemade Adobe bricks. Going to school was far from guaranteed, and when famine meant the teachers and students were starving to death, in the schools, it also wasn't a place to find food or shelter. The more William lost, the more he craved. He wanted to learn and when he was blocked from school by his inability to pay the fees, he found the free library, and a book about energy. He figured out how a windmill worked, and "I tried and I made it" barely covers the amazing fact that he built it from recycled trash, only after building the tools he needed, no drill? Heat a nail to red hot and insert it in a corn cob for a handle. The windmill was only one step in his understanding. He had to figure out AC/DC and voltage and insulation, he had to figure out how to make a generator and switches and a circuit breaker to keep his created electricity from burning down the grass roofed hut they lived in, and when his wires collapsed the termite riddled supports of the roof he had to call in the chickens to get the termites out of his bedding. He blended science with hard work and creativity to bring light and a water pump to his village, and to make the world realize that even the starving kids in Malawi have much to offer.

This was a gift for my 10 year old grandson. He reads a lot and above his grade level. When he saw the title he wasn't impressed and thought he wouldn't like it, but once he started reading it he couldn't stop. He apologized later because he had said he wouldn't like it, but really loved it.

My 10 year old loved this book. He said it was a very easy read and thought his 8 year old brother could easily read it. He found the story fascinating and inspiring. The main character and their community go through many hardships. It was eye opening to my son, reading about a life so different from his own, yet it was also much the same. Inspiring because a kid was able to take spare bike parts and make a windmill. It was a very “kids can do big things” message for my son. He loved retelling the story over dinner. At the end, my son declared this to be his new favorite book.

This story is a factual account of a young boy's search for a way to help his village. His interest in windmills to generate electricity led him to his community llibrary where he researched the idea. I liked the way the story leads the reader from problem, to idea, to research, to solution, and finally extension. In education, teachers want young students to be able to do all of these steps: recognize, define, apply, evaluate, design, extend. All the lessons are incorporated in one story! The fact that this inventor was so young also helps students to realize that you don't have to be famous, rich, highly educated, or an adult to do something of great importance. The cultural part of the story suggests to students that not everyone has the advantages that we, as Americans, are able to enjoy, such as having water on demand. The book's mixture of illustration and authenic photos make the story more realistic, so students can realize that this event actually occurred and that the boy in the story is real. This makes it easier to identify with the boy...his life, his interests, his actions, his dreams. I bought this book for my eight-year-old grandson, but it could be read to a younger audience, and I would greatly recommend it to all age groups.

Young reader edition has almost the same number of pages but print is larger and vocabulary is a little more accessible (though not "dumbed down"). My 3rd grade son enjoys reading so he chose it for a non-fiction book report and loved it. Then I read it and loved it too. Of course the famine is very difficult and sad, but the can-do attitude of author William is remarkable. He's an admirable, inspiring problem solver. My son could look at the world through a very different perspective which I think is priceless. We're now getting the rest of the family to read it too. Highly recommended. (FYI...The first chapter tells of witch doctors and magic which may require some explanation for very literal young readers, and I think the book improves quickly after this early section.)

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind This is a story of a young man’s thirst for knowledge and an indomitable spirit. Among the hardships of his local village, poverty, and devastating famine, William Kamkwamba endured and succeeded. The author’s spirit and determination carries him through all of these challenges. Along the way we get a picture of the crushing poverty of this region in Africa. There is a picture here that points the way for the promise of new technology. Implementing these new technologies in the creation of wind driven electricity, creative means in the pumping of fresh water and the utilization of biogas production for fuel points the way for a brighter future for the impoverished people in Africa and elsewhere I would like to point out that, perhaps, the donor nations should reconsider some of their project requirements. It may be that small scale projects down at the village level might bring promising results without all of the waste and corruption of large scale development projects that promise so much and often deliver so little. This book is an inspiring read.

If you're looking for a how-to, this book isn't it. It's a couple of techies trying to impress people with their technical knowledge--typical IT doublespeak. It's illogically set up, repetitious, not well-written and only tells you what the program does, not how to use it.

I have been a fan of "dummies" books since the beginning and own many titles. The bottom line is that if this book were a ham sandwich, you would need a microscope to find the Ham! It lacks depth and does not give you much of anything that you would need to get a basic SharePoint site up an running.

It is probably a decent book for SharePoint 2016, but apparently I have SharePoint online and was too naive to know there was a difference. I don't think the description told me what to look for when looking for help.

Was really hoping there would have been a bigger section on SharePoint with Office 365 but over all a great bi of knowledge on SharePoint.

Was not impressed with the level of writing, the repetition, the lack of a logical order of concepts, and the very small, unusable images in the Kindle version. No thank you.

This book is helping me understand my role in my organization as a SharePoint administrator even better. As a long time fan off the For Dummies book. I found it to be an informative read and would recommend it to anyone new to SharePoint.

Wasn't until recently that I tried one of these "for dummies" books. These books really do help me pick up the basics needed when first learning a new subject. This book helped my contributions and involvement with a SharePoint project I was thrown into.

Very helpful for the beginner. However SharePoint is always evolving.

Review

“The Social Leap is a rollicking tour through humanity’s evolutionary past, and William von Hippel is the consummate tour guide. With equal parts wisdom, humor, authority, and charm, von Hippel shows how our past explains the present and why our well-being rests on an understanding of how our minds evolved.” (Adam Alter, New York Times bestselling author of Drunk Tank Pink and Irresistible)“Forget gold toilets and private jets. The key to happiness may just lie in a cheeseburger—or a sandbox. Full of insight into human character, von Hippel’s book provides a stimulating program for measuring success without material yardsticks.” (Kirkus Reviews)“The Social Leap is one of the best books I have read in years. Its examination of the evolutionary roots of modern human behavior is both profound and revelatory. Seamlessly weaving captivating stories, rich science, and beautiful prose, von Hippel offers an unparalleled glimpse into the lives of our ancestors and, thereby, into our selves.” (Sonja Lyubomirsky, New York Times bestselling author of The How of Happiness)“The Social Leap is a rollicking tour through humanity’s evolutionary past, and William von Hippel is the consummate tour guide. With equal parts wisdom, humor, authority, and charm, von Hippel shows how our past explains the present and why our well-being rests on an understanding of how our minds evolved.” (Roy Baumeister, New York Times bestselling author of Willpower)“This book is for everybody.  Everybody, that is, who has a shred of curiosity about how we came to become human. von Hippel’s panoramic view prompts us to ask ourselves: what do we wish to do with the miracle that we are now here?”   (Mahzarin R. Banaji, Richard Clarke Cabot Professor of Social Ethics, Department of Psychology, Harvard University)

From the Back Cover

An engrossing exploration of how the last six million years of human evolution have forged our modern lives — from work and relationships to leadership and innovation and, above all, our quest for happinessHuman psychology is rife with contradictions: We work hard to achieve our goals, but when we succeed, our happiness is fleeting compared with our efforts. We hope our friends will do well in life but can’t help but feel jealous if they do too well. We’re aghast at the thought of people we know being murdered, even if we despise them, but are unconcerned when our armed forces kill enemies who are strangers to us. We complain about difficult bosses but are often just as bad when we’re in charge. These inconsistencies may seem irrational, but each of them has evolved to serve a vital function in our lives. Indeed, the most fundamental aspects of our psychology were permanently shaped by the “social leap” our ancestors made from the rainforest to the savannah. In their struggle to survive on the open grasslands, our ancestors prioritized teamwork and sociality over physical prowess, creating an entirely new kind of intelligence that would forever alter our place on this planet. In The Social Leap, leading psychologist William von Hippel traces our evolutionary history to show how events in our distant past continue to shape our lives today. From the everyday, such as why we exaggerate, to the exotic, such as why we believe our own lies, the implications are far-reaching and extraordinary.Blending anthropology, biology, history, and psychology with evolutionary science, The Social Leap is a fresh, provocative look at our species that provides new clues about who we are, why we do what we do, and how to live the good life.

#68,490 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)

I just bought this book less than an hour ago (updated: I have now had the book for 24 hours). But I'm already running into problems. As an avid follower of anything that makes us human, I know I will enjoy this book even despite the faults. Hippel is charming and very knowledgeable. He focuses on aspects of human evolution that other scholars ignore. The writing is engaging and crisp. But there are some scientifically painful moments and I will highlight them as I read. So, this review will be updated as I move forward. The first real ouch comes right in the preface. It is there where Hippel is building his central ideas. But he does so in a fashion that strikes this reader as deceitful. In a section about the evolutionary roots of sharing and cooperation, Hippel talks about how chimps differ from humans in that they really have no rules at all when it comes to food sharing. He writes: "chimps who only watch the hunt are just as likely to end up with a monkey snack as chimps who join the hunting party. Their fellow chimps make little or no distinction between slackers and helpers. In sharp contrast, even children as young as four are attentive to who helps and who doesn’t." What!?!?? Everything I had ever read suggests the precise opposite. Nevertheless, I spent a half hour trying to find the evidence Hippel used to support this argument. Nothing to be found and his references aren't listed. I did, however, find considerable evidence to suggest that chimps do share food based on social networks and rules – quite the opposite of Hippel's conclusion. In chimps food sharing is based off of grooming relationships, barter, harassment, fear etc. Justice does matter. And it matters even in capuchins (as shown in a paper he does cite in his book). Yet, despite the deep academic consensus on this point, Hippel confidently cherry picks data (that I couldn't find) and states his claim in a way that sounds like it is a universally agreed upon conclusion. As such Hippel would either need to refute the other claims or at the least acknowledge they exist.Early into chapter one, Hippel is at it again. He writes about moments of his youth, how he and his friends would protect himself from hoards of dogs by throwing rocks. This is a fun observation and likely a human universal. But Hippel adds personal nuance to this story. And h confidently leads the reader into his theoretical web with an anecdote that strikes me as false. Hippel mentions that when he was in a group or even just with his brother they would (by instinct?) defend themselves by hurling rocks at groups of attacking stray dogs, but as soon as Hippel was alone he would respond (again by instinct?) in a different fashion – running to the nearest tree and climbing up before the dogs could reach him. Recall that the title of the book is the "Social Leap" so Hippel needs to make clear distinctions between a lone human and a social human. And so he does this hear. But wow. This is not science. Nor is it even likely true. Like Hippel I've been in numerous scary situations with packs of dogs (once I was in Chile facing a pack of fifty dogs running at me, fortunately they continued to run right by me) and the last thing I have ever thought when I have seen dogs running at me is to turn and run for a tree. Dogs are so fast. The last thing I've ever thought in those situations is to turn my back and run. Running away leads dogs to get even more aggressive. And even when alone, facing many packs of dogs (as I did once late at night in Holland) like Hippel, I have merely pretended to reach down for a rock and the dogs turn in their tracks - precisely as Hippel describes. So, while its an interesting observation that Hippel makes, it feels entirely contrived, and certainly is based on nothing more than personal anecdote – not quite the data one requires for scientific inquiry. At this stage in the book we need science and statistics not invention. Show us a study which shows that little boys run for the trees when they are alone and then stand their ground when they are in pairs. Otherwise risk alienating the reader.Moving forward we continue to run into more striking problems. Hippel pushes forward with his somewhat fishy notions of group selection – a topic that is not well supported by academics. And he does this using bogus data. On page 31 he writes about humans having evolved the sclera (the whites of our eyes) and how chimps don’t have them. This is just patently false. And I’ve posted a still from the recent documentary “Rise of the Warrior Apes” showing the chimp Pincer with eye whites precisely as they exist in humans. Worse, Hippel reaches far outside the evidence and claims that the sclera evolved for reasons of group selection. While this is an interesting guess, there is no evidence to back this up. And so once again he uses false information and then bundles that up in conjecture. Worse, this is further used to bolster his suspect ideas of group selection. That said, I do agree with some of Hippel's stronger points. I really enjoy how he underlines the fatalistic (not deterministic) nature of many aspects of human evolution. He avoids the cliches of "proto-humans climbed downed the trees and took over the land." Instead he rightfully notes that proto-humans were likely victims of many disasters. And so instead of us leaving the trees the trees left us. And he investigates the geological history to build this argument. This work is very satisfying. Further, he claims that cooperation is one of the most powerful innovations of humanity – the Social Leap. It is just unfortunate that he appears to be building the evolution of cooperation on conjecture and perhaps even a fair amount of weed smoke. On page 28, he takes a deep dive into the work of Barbara Isaac who suggested in a paper from 1987 that stone throwing played a much more significant role in human evolution than scholars have noted. I suspect Isaac is right about this. But Isaac's writing is much more cautious. She is quick to point out how little data there is. And when she cites the work of historians she is careful to note the problems with the citations. Hippel grabs from her paper readily, using many of her citations, but leaves out her caution. This is dangerous. Because as Hippel suggests in his dog story, stone throwing appears ideally suited for defense, but Hippel goes forward to suggest that it is a powerful method for hunting as well. But the evidence for stone use in hunting is scant. And personally it just feels wrong. Even a great major league pitcher like Nolan Ryan or Roger Clemens would likely find hunting difficult by throwing stones.I reserve my red highlighter pen for suspect writing. I use blue for great stuff. I use yellow for interesting. And again, while Hippel delivers a fun book, where I have used both the blue and the yellow often, there is just far too much red to recommend this book highly. That said, I am still very excited to continue reading and digging deeper into this book. He is a fun thinker and I have enjoyed his focus on Australopithecus and the transition to the savannah. This is very fresh stuff. As such, I will continue adding to this review....stay tuned.

I really, really enjoyed the Social Leap. The book makes a very interesting and persuasive case that much of what makes us uniquely human—our psychology, intelligence and what we find meaningful in our lives—can be traced to our evolutionary past, and especially to how our chimp-like ancestors made the transition from trees to the savannah six million years ago.Our ancestors were forced from the safety of trees on to the savannah in Africa, and this was very dangerous. There were larger, faster, stronger predators in the savannah and it was only because of several lucky accidents—including especially the fact that we learned to cooperate—that we came to dominate the savannah and, subsequently, every environment we moved into. There is a lot of nuance and luck in our history and it is all told well in the Social Leap. We stood upright (became bipedal) and freed our hands to throw stones, make tools, and dominate larger creatures; we discovered fire which enabled us to release the nutrients in food and grow our brains; we learned how to divide labor and specialize. The book describes all of this and much more in way that is readable, interesting and thought-provoking. Psychology studies are described clearly and simply—something I haven’t found all that often in books of this type. The Social Leap also explains much of our current psychology. Why we ruminate endlessly about other people and social situations, for example, and why we aren’t as individuals terribly innovative (except in social situations). The last few chapters discuss what we can learn from evolutionary insights to improve our happiness and life satisfaction. And while I wasn’t persuaded by everything that is written about happiness, I do believe that though evolutionary insights may not be enough by themselves to inform a happy and productive life, they must be taken account of or we risk kidding ourselves about what will make us truly happy. There are many extremely interesting studies, theories and research described in the book. Some of my favorites:• We evolved to be upright and bipedal, which also enable us to throw stones. If you practice throwing stones, and especially if you throw stones in groups, you can be deadly, even against much stronger and larger animals.• Our intelligence and complexity of thought came about not to solve natural problems like hunting prey, but to navigate the far more complicated and dynamic situations that result interactions with other humans. Are others freeloading, are they plotting against me, is my mate cheating, etc. Social dynamics are extremely complicated, rapidly changing, and it is only by developing very sophisticated thinking that we could cope with this challenge.• The white around our pupils is evidence that we evolved so that others can tell what we are looking at. This helps drive cooperation, and surprisingly, is not true, for example, of chimpanzees.• Much of what we do to become good at things—like sports or chess or whatever—is motivated by our need to more sexually attractive than rivals.• We deceive ourselves in many ways, such as how attractive we are. This enables us to deceive others.• Leaders are more likely to become domineering, greedy, immoral and exploitative when resources can be monopolized. There is much, much more that I found deeply fascinating. And it is all clearly explained. This book gave me many new perspectives on my behavior and thinking patterns, and is one of the best I have read in a long time.

This was an amazing book. Professor Hippel brilliantly explains why we are how we are. It helped me understand my self better as a human being.More folks should read this!

Heard the author on Joe Rogan’s Podcast...what a fascinating theory of how we have evolved over millions of years

An interesting perspective on what makes us human and how our psychology today was shaped by our earliest ancestors. A good read for anyone wanting to learn more about evolutionary psychology and discover the evolutionary basis for happiness in our modern lives.

Incredible book presented in a non-academic easy-to-read manner. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in evolution and psychology.

Contains lots of interesting facts about the history of humans that I didn't know about. Also provides insight into the way we evolved socially. Books is a perfect length, not too long not too short.

This is a great book for me because I don't know much about marijuana, but a lot of people have been recommending medical marijuana oils for relief from pain. This explains the origins of the plant, how to grow it and how to make your own oils. Very informative and easy reading.

This Cannabis oil essentials book is one of the best. The book starts off with a detailed history of cannabis as early as 6,000 BC. Showing the pathway of where cannabis came from. This book is very informational, and was really helpful. It has detailed explanations of the different kinds of cannabis, the descriptions of each, uses for all the different kinds, and even health risks. This book is perfect for those who use cannabis for medicinal and recreational purposes.

This is a thorough and well-rounded presentation of the plant, the history, the manufacture, the law and legalities, the dangers, as well as the medical and pleasure-usage of Cannabis Oil. There's all manners of minor details that are sure to fascinate the reader. If, like me, you're simply curious what the headlines and news regarding Cannabis Oil is all about, here's a concise book dealing with the subject. It's a rather short read, and well worth your time.

Unbiased information, read this and keep an open mind. Just may change one's opinion on legalization of marajauna for medical treatment.

This book is highly recommended. Clydebank Alternative, as always, have presented an unbiased work, that is scientific, informative yet very approachable. Cannabis, cannabis oil, marijuana and medical marijuana are all words that illicit strong emotional responses in today's society. There is a clear line of demarcation between these opinions -- those that see cannabis and its derivatives as negative to humanity, one of the first stepping stones to societal degradation, and those that understand, and have experienced, the many beneficial and healing properties that cannabis has to offer. This book aims to draw all the arguments for and against this topic, and allows the reader to form their own opinions. The format is very readable and informative, and at times even quite riveting. For those that wish to learn about cannabis and cannabis oil, a more comprehensive source can't be found elsewhere.
